The mission of the Buddha is to discover the lost path to nirvana or spiritual freedom and teach this path to others. Buddha Guatama taught that Nirvana is achieved by breaking the cycle of samsara or the aimless wandering driven by ignorance and cravings.
Our karma defines the form our lives take and our deeds determine our karma. Good deeds beget a pleasant rebirth and bad deeds a painful one. Buddha offers us more than that. His nirvana is beyond birth and rebirth. It is spiritual freedom brought by learning Dharma, the ultimate truth of the world.
Everyone must learn this truth for themselves, and with the aid of boundless love and compassion for all living beings, it is within our grasp.
