Calcite on Calcite, true phantoms. They feature several generations of Calcite Crystals. These vary in size and their coloring. Some are golden, some have hues of purple and pinks. You will receive one at least 1/2" in diameter and 2-1/4" to 3" in length. And, sometimes there is a twin attached!

Zodiac Affinity
Those with the sign of Cancer will have a special affinity with Faerie Points, but all signs will enjoy their playful energy. They have a Receptive Energy and their Element is Earth.
Folklore
Historically, Faerie Points have been carried in small bags as amulets against negativity and used as energy directing wands.
It is said that creating a circle of these little gems on a full moon (especially in the spring) will bring the faeries out to dance within it. Be sure to make it large enough to lay in. As they can be shy creatures, you will need to pretend to be asleep before they reveal themselves. If they catch you peeking they will surely flitter away, but not before causing some type of mischief in your garden.
Crystal System
Faerie Points have a Triclinic crystal system, take a rhombohedral form (six-sided) and are in the mineral class of carbonate. They are formed from solutions containing calcium and grow projecting upward from the floors of caverns. Generally their outer cover is a golden color, but shades of purples and pinks also occur.
These are a true form of a "phantom" Calcite crystal, and they have grown in two stages. First as clear to milky white crystal points that are well formed and defined, and then as the surroundings change, a coating of smaller crystals with bits of different minerals were added to their growing mix. The two stages in the crystals growth are apparent in each crystal. The smaller outer crystals seem to amplify the characteristics of the inner, well formed Calcite crystal. |
