	OPAL A very soft gem, Opal comes in many colors. Many are most familiar with the jewelry grade that are very flashy in their color and brilliance. There often appears to be shimmering rainbows captured within because tiny water pockets became trapped in the gem as it formed. Useful for dream work, meditation, psychic development and given as a gift of true love.

	OBSIDIAN Obsidian has been volcano produced and is generally found in dark colors of gray, brown, and black.

	Black Obsidian is a protective stone, reflecting negativity back to its source. A talisman for travelers to ensure a safe journey both physically and mentally as one searches within.

	Mahogony Obsidian shows a combination of red, brown and black coloring. It can provide vitality to a persons life work, may be used to remove energy blocks and relieve tension.

	Snowflake Obsidian is a stone with white and gray spots on black that is especially good for helping to overcome self-generated negativity and remove that influence through positive attitude and internal balance.

	ONYX Onyx encourages self-realization. It aids in pursuing our own goals with determination and is particularly suited for those who may be easily influenced or lead. It is also beneficial for centering and aligning the whole person with the higher powers.

	PEARL One of the softest gems, it comes to us from the living sea. A loving heart, self-acceptance, sensitivity and beauty are among it’s influences. Freshwater pearls are more potent than cultured sea pearls.

	PERIDOT Peridot is also known as the “Evening Emerald”. It is a light yellow-green gemstone and is good for confidence, nerves, fighting aggravating conditions, and strengthening friendships.

	QUARTZ There are dozens of books with details of making tools and ornaments from the quartz crystal and all its wonderful variations. It is considered the most versatile and positive of all gemstones. And as you will see below, we have been gifted from the creators with many forms that specialize in healing the different aspects of ourselves.

	Amethyst is a popular member of the quartz family that covers all shades of lavender and purple. An excellent meditation stone and nicknamed the "Bishop's Stone", amethyst has been reputed to encourage sobriety, spirituality, inner peace, and to ease headaches.

	Rock or Crystal Quartz has been called crystallized light, petrified ice, tears of angels and the teardrops of Isis. Used universally as the emblem of purity, strength, power and focus of healing forces, it is also utilized in meditation and prayer.

	Elestial Quartz is also known as the 'enchanted crystal', these are helpful during times of change and transformation. Excellent for stimulating and opening blocked Chakras. Assists in being able to recognize and communicate emotions, and to personally express what you are feeling.

	Faden Quartz appearance is a natural occurance that has come from a fluid, or gas filled, interconnected chamber. At times you may only see one thread (most helpful for astral travel), or they may appear to be like a miniature Milky Way type of formation. I have found that ones with numerous threads seem to connect with another person more readily and at many, many levels.

	Phantom Quartz is the ultimate symbol of universal awareness. It provides the energies needed to connect with higher realms of knowledge for our spiritual enlightenment. It is also an invaluable tool in finding spiritual guides who are always ready to help guide us.

	Rose Quartz is a lovely pink translucent to transparent crystal. It has a gentle way to permeate one with love for others, attracts love and admiration, focuses one on self-improvement, and enhances beauty, awareness and energy.

	Rutilated Quartz is formed when tiny needles of silver or gold are surrounded by Quartz as the crystal forms. These little needles are another crystal form called Rutile. They convey a very stepped-up energy that amplifies the quartz. Very positive! Gives new hope, transmits uprightness, independence and spiritual greatness.

	Smoky Quartz comes in all shades of brown and gray are found in smoky quartz. A very “comfortable” vibration that relaxes and strengthens at the same time. Smoky quartz grounds and clarifies at very basic levels enabling one to change or remove the dross or deadwood of the psyche and assume responsibility when beginning anew. This gem has also been found to be a very beneficial aid in reducing the physical effects associated with radiation therapies commonly used in treatments of many cancers.

	Tourmalinated Quartz is Quartz that has crystalized around smaller Black Tourmaline crystals and is a great pain reliever. The Quartz seems to amplify the effects of the Black Tourmaline for that purpose. It is also a great protection stone.

	RHODOCHROSITE Rhodochrosite is peachy to deep-watermelon pink with white swirls, this is a love attracting stone to the max. Assists in dealing with, sorting out, and redirecting emotional energy, lessening trauma, giving and receiving love.

	RHODONITE Rhodonite is a heart stone. Rhodonite is usually found near silver when it’s mined and is cotton candy pink to light rosy red with black, silver or gold veins running throughout. It repels confusion and doubt, helps to mend a broken heart, attract a new love, and strengthen one’s self-image.

	RHYOLITE Rhyolite is a green stone with chalcedony inclusions. It fortifies self respect and feeling of self value, helps to accept ourselves as we are and has an emotionally balancing effect.

	RIVERSTONE A jasper related stone generally found in pastel colors to brick red, slate blue, beige-white, dusty rose and brown. Its qualities are still being discovered, but it’s known for it’s regenerative effect on the physical body and for it’s ability to relieve anxiety. Riverstones have been naturally tumbled by nature in fast moving streams and rivers.

	RUBY Rubies are pale pink to an almost garnet wine red color The ruby has symbolized beauty, power, passion, deep love, strength, devotion and fairness in action. Called the Queen and King of gems, it has been used as a symbol of royalty, soul, and generosity world wide.

	RUBY in ZOISITE Today, most Zoisite found is the type called 'Ruby in Zoisite' (also known as Anyolite). This combination of gems has highly energetic properties. If you find the effects of Ruby by itself a bit much, the Zoisite can soften that rough road.
