	SAPPHIRE There are many shades of blue and there are even yellow, green, gray and black sapphires. The gifts they impart are wisdom, tranquility, loyalty, prophecy, and divine blessing.

	SARDONYX Sardonyx is actually a Chalcedony that is colored black and white, and sometimes has reddish brown areas from iron and carbon inclusions. It stimulates the striving for a meaningful existance, increases willpower, and strengthens a vituous character.

	SCOLECITE Scolecite can enhance our dream state, bringing better dream recall, lucid dreaming and restful sleep. It helps us to realize the subtle messages from our inner self and from higher sources.

	SEA FOSSIL Sea Fossil, also called Ammonite, has an affinity with Aquarius. It is a good stimulus to architects and those who work in construction. It's Energy is receptive, it's Element is Akasha and it's Planet is Earth.

	SEPTARIAN Septarian crystals assist in stabilizing spiritual developments that may be moving too fast and could lead to excessive demands or a decrease in interest.

	SHIVA LINGHAM Shiva Lingham is an often worshiped fertility stone revered by Hindus as the embodiment of Lord Shiva. Lingham is also the sacred Sanskrit word for phallus. In Tantra, the shape embodies masculine energy, dynamic expression and knowledge. The markings named Yoni (sacred Sanskrit word for vulva), depicts the feminine energy, wisdom and intuition. Together, the female energy arouses the masculine urge to create. As such, the Tantric Lingham unifies the dualistic (male/female) world into harmonious balance.

	SILVER A good metal for healing purposes because it is in tune with the energies of the body. Silver works best as a communicator, benefits circulation and detoxifies the blood. Mental activity is clarified and you may notice an increase in your ability to approach intellectual problems. It is also known to lessen anxiety.

	SODALITE Sodalite is navy blue to indigo with gray or white streaks, this stone is on the upswing in popularity. Steadiness, regeneration of overly stressed organs, helps to repel fears, doubts, guilts, and all negativity projected by others to you.

	STILBITE Stilbite provides a grounding energy to help manifest what has been learned on the spiritual level. It has a calming effect in accepting new ideas brought to our concious mind. It also aids us in synthesizing the physical manifestation of the creative process allowing the flow of intuitive ideas to come into being.

	SUGILITE Sugilite is a fairly new find to the gemstone world, this lovely purple to sometimes pink stone lightens the spirit and heightens awareness on many levels. Also good for meditation.

	SUNSTONE Sunstone is an orange to golden brown iridescent feldspar that gets its sparkle from microscopically thin hematite platelets. Helps to discover and live out your inner nature, affirm life and allow your "sunny sides" to shine. Brings back the belief in luck and happiness and the benevolent gods.

	TIGERS EYE Tigers Eye is found in shades of golden brown with gold, blues and reds and sometimes with a green cast. In any shade, this gem should only be used for about a week and then cleared. After a week, its energy seems to reverse and can have the opposite effect of what you may have expected. Simply giving the stone a day of rest and clearing will restore its useful energies.

	Blue Tigers Eye helps us to get through difficult times in our lives without losing our inner voice. It can be used to enhance psychic abilities and attuning the Third Eye.

	Golden Tigers Eye is the most common variety found. It sorts through our mental levels to separate desires and vagaries from necessity, strengthening concentration.

	Red Tigers Eye can bring compassion and empathy in considering the needs of those close to us as well as our own needs. It can assist us in letting go of thoughts that we are not worthy of love and fosters a healthy self-image of ourselves which will reflect to those around us.

	TIGER IRON Tiger Iron has some recent aliases it has become known as. Galaxy Stone is one, and more recently it became known as Harry Potter's Magic Stone. A powerful trinity of stones! Red Jasper, Tiger's Eye and Hematite join together making a fourth powerful healing tool. High level of strength and diversity and can take on almost anything you request of it. Will provide you with endurance and strength. It is great in providing motivation on the mental, spiritual and physical levels.

	TOPAZ Topaz can be rosy gold, deep yellow, golden brown, green or aqua blue. One of the royal stones in the gem world, topaz fires intelligence, controls anger, grants sunny warmth on all levels. Ancient India regarded it as crystallized fire.

	TOURMALINE The rainbow of gemstones, tourmalines come in a variety of colors and are extremely positive to work with at many levels.

	Black Tourmaline, like many black stones, reflects negativity and evil back to the source. This one is also a great pain reliever.

	Green Tourmaline assists success, mastery, achievement, and is a masculine strength stone.

	Indicolite Tourmaline is teal to navy blue (Indigo) similar to sapphire's energy but a more penetrating electrical type of energy.

	Tourmaline in Quartz has a boosted pain relieving effect and can conduct body energy. It can stimulate healing and can assist in the neutralizing the influence of side effects of radiation from different cancer therapies.

	Pink Tourmaline, also called Rubellite, enables one to confront emotional problems and to express love.

	Watermelon Tourmaline is where green and pink occur as layers in the same crystal. It also occurs as green around the pink as the center of the crystal. It is a wonderful balancing aid and healing agent for regenerative purposes.

	TURQUOISE Turquoise is found in shades of jade green (Chinese & African) to the popular sky blue color (the Americas). This stone has long been used as an amulet for travel, protection, and good luck. Carry a piece with you to prevent falls. The stone will take the break and not your bones. Be cautious when purchasing those called Turquenite or other renditions of the name. They are actually dyed Howlite and not the real deal.

	UNAKITE Unakite is salmon pink and light olive or sage green in its coloring. It is a compound stone to feldspar and epidote. Grounding for the emotion, attracts new friendships and strengthens old ones. Wonderful Heart and Higher Heart Chakra stone.

	VANADINITE Orange in color, it is a stone for women. Helps to balance women's reproductive hormones and menopause sypmtoms. Assists in regulating menstrual cycles and aids in premenstrual syndrome.

	VARISCITE Green with aluminum colored deposits. Has an enlivening effect and lifts the spirit. Bestows a wakeful attitude, clear and rational thinking. Stimulates energy reserves, especially in the spring when many suffer from chronic tiredness.

	WAVELLITE Light green in color and promotes readiness to heal emotional issues from this and past lives. Strengthens to to be able to heal and change.

	WOOD, PETRIFIED/FOSSILIZED Petrified or Fossilized Wood is generally brown in color with lighter bands of silica. It increases our feeling of a bond with the earth and of being at home here, and can aid us in knowing we are in the right place at the right time. It can also be used as a tool to advance ourselves to the higher aspects of ourselves and our ultimate purpose.

	WULFENITE Orange in color. Brings order out of confusion in relationships. For women, it promotes hormonal balance and is especially useful after abortion, miscarriage or childbirth.

	YITTRIUM FLUORITE Fluorite is usually quite pure, but in some specimens as much as 20% of the calcium in the mineral may be replaced by metallic yttrium. This variant form is usually violet, grey or reddish brown in colour and is known as yttrian fluorite. Takes a slightly different form from other flourites and does not correct disorganization. An effective healer of other conditions associated with Fluorite. A service-oriented stone, attracting wealth and abundance, teaches the principles of manifestation, and heightens mental activity.

	ZIRCON Formed as a liquid from acid magmas, it is found as a component of granites and seyenites.The red/brown variety is known as 'hyacinth' and is generally used today to become detached from materialism and experience spiritual reality.
