    Crystal System...
    Golden Tiger's Eye, sometimes called Yellow Tiger's Eye, has a Trigonal crystal system, is formed in a tertiary manner, and is in the mineral class of oxide, the Quartz group. The silky sheen and beautiful shimmers seen in this stone are created during its formation process.

    With Quartz as its base, Crodicolite (asbestos) is trapped within the crystal. The fibers are generally twisted or crumpled which accounts for the various patterns. The amount of oxidation that occurs during its formation determines the coloring. In the gold shades, some oxidation has occurred and the golden coloring of the oxidized Crodicolite prevails. You may also be able to notice Hematite layers found much easier in the Golden color.

    Zodiac Affinity...
    Tiger's Eye, of every color, has a special affinity with the Earth Signs. In gold, it also has a special affinity with Capricorn. It has a Projective Energy, its Planets are the Sun and the Earth, and its Element is Fire.

    Folklore...
    Golden Tiger's Eye was used by the natives of Ceylon as a charm against evil spirits. It is also written that it has the ability to draw helpful people and material things to its wearer which is why it is used in abundance spells or rituals.

    Cunningham writes that a simple money spell involves empowering several of these stones with your need for money. They are then set around a Green candle. Light the candle and as it burns, visualize having what you need.

    Application...
    As with most stones, Golden Tiger's Eye are best used when held or laid upon the body. In it's shade of gold, it can be quite beneficial when used at the Solar Plexus Chakra.

    Golden Tiger's Eye assists us in getting through difficult times in our lives with courage. It aids in keeping the spark alive of a trust in a greater power that leads us in hard times.

    Emotionally...
    Golden Tiger's Eye, like the other colors, promotes the balancing of yin/yang energy. It also helps us to be able to distance ourselves from external influences that may try to "storm in", and it is good for leveling stressful situations we are in turmoil over.

    Mentally...
    Golden Tiger's Eye helps us keep an overall view in complicated situations. It can also assist in removing doubts or difficulties when making decisions. By centering our energy and mental focus, our choices become much clearer.

    		  

    Physically...
    Golden Tiger's Eye also has a pain relieving effect. It can slow the flow of energy in the body and helps in removing over-stimulation of the nerves or adrenal glands.

    I want to mention that Golden Tiger's Eye should only be used for about a week at a time and then cleared and given a day of rest. After a week, the positive effects seem to take a 180 degree turn and provide the opposite of its beneficial effects.

    Corresponding Chakra...
    3rd Chakra - color of yellow. Helps in recognizing the resources in ourselves that allows us to accomplish our goals. Aids in shielding us from negative energy sources and protects against psychic attack. Clears negative energy from this Chakra and returns it to its sender.
