Sending Out Ostara Blessings To All!
As the snow melts away and night gives way to day,
A new season of growth is upon us.
The First Day of Spring (Spring Equinox - Ostara) will arrive on March 20th
On the equinox, night and day are nearly exactly the same length – 12 hours – all over the world. This is the reason it's called an "equinox", derived from Latin, meaning "equal night".
The holiday of Ostara or Eostre is a celebration of spring and growth, the renewal of life that appears on the earth after the winter. In mythology it is often characterized by the rejoining of the Goddess and the God who spent his winter months in death.
A nice way to decorate for this one is with the flowers that blossom at this time. They are abundant and beautiful. Daffodils, jonquils, tulips, narcissus, violets, crocus and snowdrops should be making their appearance in our gardens and are carried at many local shops. Fill your space with their uplifting colors and scents after you've finished your spring cleaning.
