Glaucophane is in the Monoclinic Crystal System, the amphibole sub-group. It is made up from sodium, magnesium, iron, aluminium silicate hydroxide minerals. It gets its name from two Greek words, glaukos for "sky-blue" and phainestai meaning "to appear."
Someone, somewhere, has decided to call it the 'que sera stone' in the metaphysical world and I have no clue why. I just kept finding cases of copy and paste and no actual reason. But I have also found very different looking versions of it by that name.
One inference actually suggested that it was Melodie that came up with it. In checking in her book, no mention. So hmmmm. What will be will be. It does seem that somewhere along the line it has also been confused with a form of Rhyolite. Maybe that is the source of the name change. For now, until I gain more actual facts, it kind of is what it is. I will call it by it's original, geological name.
Glaucophane can be found in Greece, Italy, California (USA), areas of China and in Argentina. It's coloring can be gray, a peachy tan, lavender blue, or bluish black.
I will be honest, I had remarked to Jodi I was not really impressed with what was supposed to be the 'hot new thing' in the crystal world. In fairness, I just had a kilo of it sitting on my desk - but for like two months. Usually that's more than enough time for me to pick up a stones traits. So, I started carrying a couple in my pocket and placed a couple in my pillow case - giving it a second chance so to speak. And???? It needs to be on or very, very near you. I DID get results! And you can color me surprised.
Glaucophane helps to open and balance both the 5th and 6th Chakras. Aides in facilitating the development of our intuitive and psychic pursuits. Assists in finding our voice and speaking our truth. It can also be helpful when we are blocked from finding a solution to a problem.
Glaucophane seems to be best used when held or laid upon the body. I carried a couple during the day and also placed them in my pillow case at night.
Glaucophane allows us to tap into the universal power to become inspired and to enhance our creative abilities. It seemed to attune my Akashic Record to my soul purpose and allowed me to observe all the paths and outcomes ahead, and then encouraged me to take the most beneficial path for my personal evolution. It brought the reminder that there are no mistakes, only learning experiences, and how fast I decide to learn is up to me.
Glaucophane brings our feelings to to the surface to understand them. It also uplifts those who may feel sorry for themselves or feel isolated and lonely. It has a way to soothe as it elevates and could be used for calming episodes of rage, lessening panic disorders, or overcoming depression.
Glaucophane insists we stand in our own power. It brings a brightness to our moods and a new awareness of options for our life. It offers substance to our aspirations and gently nudges us to do the things we truly wish to do. Not by dwelling on problems or mistakes but in finding solutions and be emboldened by the actions we take.
Glaucophane is a carrier of Qi energies and is very effective in boosting our immune system. It is believed it recharges and balances our meridians and organs of the subtle and physical bodies, and may be placed for short amounts of time wherever dis-ease or depletion exists.
Glaucophane has a special affinity with all Signs. It has a Receptive Energy, its Planet is Earth and its Element is Earth.
There is not much magickal or folklore information about this one. I would imagine it would be quite handy to use in spells to reinforce your life path goals.
